With the advancement of science and the improvement of technology, the application fields of classic inorganic pigment iron oxide have also been continuously expanded, from the initial building materials and road paving to the high-end coating industry. However, when applied to highly demanding industries such as high-end coatings, the application of traditional iron oxide pigments has encountered a bottleneck.
As one of the main drafters of the national standard GB/T1863-2008 for iron oxide pigments, the largest iron oxide pigment production plant in my country has taken the lead in technology. After long-term research by the technical department, our company currently has poor dispersibility and suspension of iron oxide pigments in water. The problem has its own set of solutions-the surface treatment of iron oxide pigments for deep processing, including two types of methods. 1: Preparation of iron oxide pigment paste, compared with the traditional method of directly adding iron oxide to water, this method solves the problem of dispersibility. 2: Surface treatment of iron oxide pigments. The fine particles on the surface of iron oxide are reprocessed through equipment to solve the problem of dispersibility. This has basically broken through the bottleneck that iron oxide pigments should be used in the high-end coatings industry.
