Introduction
Purplish‑Red Glass Pigment 1104 (Chrome‑Tin Purplish‑Red) belongs to Cr‑Sn‑Si‑Ca tin‑sphene crystalline ceramic stain, corresponding Pantone color 194C. Max firing / melting temperature reaches 1250 ℃. The color‑forming Cr⁴⁺ ion is stabilized inside tin‑sphene crystal lattice, delivering deep rich purplish‑red tone, darker shade compared with Peach‑Red 1107 and Agate‑Red 1113.
Important technical warning：
- Only stable under strict oxidizing firing atmosphere. Red‑forming Cr⁴⁺ will be reduced under reduction condition, leading to grey‑brown discoloration and total loss of purplish‑red shade.
- Optimized for zinc‑free high‑calcium glaze. ZnO inside glaze will destroy tin‑sphene crystal structure and cause severe color deviation.
- Excessive MgO content in glaze will make purplish‑red tone fade and turn pale.
- Please perform lab firing or melting test with your own raw‑material formula before mass‑scale production.
